Oh no they don't! You gave yourself away there. The last time we were laughed at was when Julia went to the US and addressed Congress. My American friends thought that was pretty funny.

I have travelled all over the world, including 19 visits to the US, and every continent, some twice or more. And many 3rd world places. From Macchu Pichu to Nordkapp, Capetown to Newfoundland. On a motorcycle, the locals open up to you. I listen carefully.

The verdict?

Australia is probably the most envied country on earth. Not once ever have I heard a negative reaction. Everybody smiles when they realise you are Australian. Its always the same, from Livingston Zambia to New York. No they don't laugh at us, they love us.
