just my thoughts but it seems unlikely to me that interest rates need to go back to 'normal' levels to create the desired affect that the RBA is hoping for.
I mean, if interest rates are used to dampen demand and curb inflation and with households as stretched as they apparently are, doesn't it make sense that you wouldn't need to raise interest rates as far as was needed in the past to create similar effects?
