As a decade long holder, I and many here traded peaks and troughs with a bit of luck making money. Selling a sizeable parcel at lofty prices pre Hayne Royal Commission (but not smart enough to sell all) the post Hayne recommendations saw MOC at sub 80c.

It looked over done, but risk of loss remained high until recommendations were overturned. Many brave investors, bought in to the debt free business as it restructured its profit split with brokers and "downsized" dividends.

I am disappointed to see this go to REA. It was one of my few income related positions. I have held no bank stocks for 5 years, and suffered no opportunity cost. Their day of reckoning is not far away, once the current rotational euphoria fades. IMO only, of course.

I have enjoyed the huge empty space of great junior miners and emerging green energy/REE plays, that paid no dividends but had assets just waiting for commodity prices to recover. That space is also now crowded, so I find myself moving out of equities progressively, cashing in my chips.

Them's the breaks as they say. I suffer no discomfort being increasingly cashed up while others are increasingly tapped out. This is a lesson I have learned over many decades. FOMO is one of the few (investment) vices I curiously do not seem to carry. Contrarian to the core I guess.

Good luck to all who have stayed fat with MOC, or picked up a quick profit. I for one, am sad to see the business sold to REA, though the significant bulge in my wallet eases the disappointment.

M&A is the final stage of every bull market. It is in the air every day now. Buyers beware, winter is coming, though not likely this year.
