Real estate is still going gangbusters in qld, watch the RBA backpeddle on interest rates as soon as the Xinc real estate speculator community starts to show signs of stress. IMO alot of the issues we are having with the lack of skilled labor available to fill productive jobs within the economy are due to the massive misallocation of labor and capital into an artificially inflated real estate sector. If the government are really serious about inflation why don't they slash negative gearing on existing properties freeing up tradesman to work on new homes instead of renovating investment properties and forcing real estate agents and mortgage brokers to move into work in more productive sectors of the economy. If we truly are in a commodity supercycle surely now is the time to move australia away from the disasterous policy of growth built on asset price appreciation and the associated overconsumption.
