I think heard somewhere that people should only spend about a third of their income on housing.
Does anyone know how much of their income should be spent on housing?
Also how much is the average loan PER PERSON (not couple) at the moment?
As far as I can see each person could service a $200,000 loan easily and a couple could handle a $400,000
But could be wrong.
If you know this I think you can work out whether or not people will just walk away from their houses and get a handle on how bad this could get.
