Mosaic Considers Special Dividend, May Buy Phosphate Assets

July 22 (Bloomberg) -- Mosaic Co., North Americas second- largest fertilizer producer, said its considering payment of a special dividend this year and acquiring makers of phosphate- crop nutrients.
The company is a willing buyer of regional producers of phosphate fertilizers Chief Executive Officer James Prokopanko said today in a telephone interview. Its also considering buying phosphate-rock reserves, he said.
Mosaic paid a special dividend last year of $1.30 a share.
