Exactly, up until now Islamic State terrorists at the foot soldier level had one thing in common, and that was they were Zealots, religious fanatics, ready to die in the name of Allah. Not once did these terrorists under open interrogation mention Allah. They did mention cash.
At the top, the organisation needs money, but the fanatics they recruit to kill or be killed are always indoctrinated with religious ideology. They do what they do with death as their reward.
These guys did it for cash.
