It is not "my" joke but I thought it was very funny. There are heaps of eg Irish jokes which are extremely funny. But the Irish have a good laugh too.
I have some Jewish friends. I bet if I told them they would have a good laugh.
So I respectfully disagree with you that it helps to perpetuate a stereotype.
Let me finish on this note - the Irish jokes are legendary. But I can assure you that the Irish are amongst the most intelligent and industrious people anywhere. But they take it in good humour!! And Irish ladies are amongst the most beautiful ladies too!! And like the Jewish people the Irish have had a very sad history too!
