Do we revert to the old bastion of the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman where by domestic violence was rife and where the catholic church would rarely grant an anullment despite what some husbands would do to their wives. I must point out that I am a happily married man (to a woman), but why must we prevent two people who love each other from being together in the eyes of the law. One only needs to look at the high failure rate of traditional marriages to see that maybe there is another alternative. A loving couple is better than a warring couple who stay together under whatever pretext. That is my humble opinion.
