Hi trees, all wrong!! The whole cholesterol hypothesis is wrong. Forget LDLs, HDLs, VLDLs, IDLs - the lot. Completely irrelevant. In fact, dangerous, as lower levels cause strokes - actually, my suspicions were awakened when Dad went on a cholesterol lowering diet, fought for years to get it to an "approved" level, and then died of a stroke at 74. No family history of vascular disease, his father died at 90, brothers died at 82, 88, 97 ....
"The Great Cholesterol Con" by Dr Malcolm Kendrick is a good place to start.
Thanks, the brain tumour is my wife's. She's doing fine. We skipped the "specialists" and went to a homoeopath. Seventeen years on she's doing fine.
