I have just lodged the following complaint with the ASX.
To the Manager
ASX Surveillance
Dear Sir / Madam,
I am writing to raise a concern with regards to the recent trading activity in Beach Petroleum (BPT) by Deutsche Bank. If you examine their recent trading history I believe there is reason to be suspicious that they are deliberately manipulating the price lower by operating actively on both the buy and sell sides of the market. They have been doing this for a number of weeks during which time the price has continually fallen from the mid 90’s to the current level of 73.5 cents. I believe any organisation or individual buys shares with the objective of generating a positive return on their investment. This begs the question as to why the bank is continually buying and selling shares on the market causing prices to fall significantly. I am requesting that you investigate the practices of Deutsche Bank in relation to their trading in BPT shares. Their trading behaviour has not been in line with the underlying objective of generating a positive return on an investment, which therefore raises the question of whether their objective is to manipulate the BPT share price lower.
Regards
