Really simple reason for this. Our cities have significant congestion and all of our governments, ALP, Libs etc are spending money on areas that don't help our future. Our infrastructure backlog is growing and is not keeping up with population growth. Our roads need significant work and our water networks are disintegrating. We are spending time and money on virtue signalling areas, rather than working towards a set of goals that make our cities more livable. Our political system works in 3 year cycles, rather than help with long term plans.
