Sadly we havn't come very far when it comes to womens rights and respect, obvious in most African countries. But Geo you are wrong, some of the most fervent moslems are in Africa, the women and girls in Somalia are particularly treated badly, little girls are subjected to female circumcism and the whole genital area is cut of with a pair of scissors. And it amazes me that it is often the mothers and grandmothers that perpetuate this abhorrent practice. One would assume it is likely that the men of the family insist on it.And often the elder family men often see it as their right to take a young girls virginity.
