Chinese are not poor anymore. Living standards in big cities and coastal cities are similar to developed countries. One city, Shanghai, has population of over 24m, equals whole Australian population. Average house price in Shanghai is well above A$500,000. Houses locating closely to the city, are selling minimum CNY60,000 per square meter for a new apartment. More dearer is in the city.
My sister bought a new apartment with no renovation in a tie three city, costed A$320,000.
Most of seafood are selling at A$10/kg and above. Most Chinese like seafood, especially lobster, but it is dearer. As Chinese new year is coming (8 February 2016), 1.3 billion Chinese are ready to celebrate new year, quality foods will be highly demanding.
