Why not? Here's the definition of travelling:

1. To go from one place to another, as on a trip; journey."

There's nothing denoting 'travelling' as necessarily involving sleeping in substandard accommodation, enjoying the company of cockroaches, or doing without any other reasonable comfort.

Neither is there any reason why one can't stay in a decent hotel/apartment and spend the days absorbing the local colour and culture.

So maybe just accept that most people like to travel and they'll all have different levels of preferred accommodation.
