You're fighting a losing battle with some of the suited "stockmarket types". Hiltons are the same the world over. Club sandwich, smelly ducted air-con, wifes going to day-spas all day, spending all day poolside ect. Boring. I'm with you book flight, arrive and take it from there. Did europe, USA and here that way. When I'm tired of driving then sleep somewhere. Couldn't think of anything worst than a micro planned holiday. Go where the locals go to eat. Eat what they eat. I'm sorry for their families but not really a major issue IMO.
