This is the SYR forum, where you raised Viceroy and their research saying....
" A more realistic view is that it is a pack of lies, put together by a self-confessed shorter, intent on attacking the share price.
How much weight should we, or The Motley Fool, give to such rubbish?"
.......and I gave you a recent example of where the same "self confessed shorter" seemed to get some issue right, whereas the highly regarded analysts did not. Both companies, SYR/QIN, have been the subject of a Viceroy report, and have the same analyst (not to mention the same substantial holder - Regal Funds Management who was lucky enough to reduce their holding just before the TH)
So what's not relevant to SYR? Is there even the slimmest of chances that one/several SYR analysts have got their predictions/analysis wrong and Viceroy has got something right?
They may be "self confessed shorters", but I don't think for one moment they should be dismissed. These shorters, from what I have read, take months/years to forensically research every inch of their targets. They can, and are sued if they are found to be complete and utter "liars", as well as incurring extremely large losses on their short positions if it goes wrong. Activist shorters, such as Viceroy/Glaucus/Muddy Waters and the like, make themselves visible, unlike those who short stocks without identifying themselves. I suggest you do a little research on the subject.
Viceroy does have a contact address - as they tweeted to AFR when they ran a recent article - I assume anyone could engage them in a discussion about their SYR research if they wanted to - including SYR management, and/or ASIC?
"@PhilABaker Try contacting us as the professional journalists have done before stating we've gone into hiding. $QIN @FinancialReview"
@moloch - "You are very slow on the uptake today TJ"
Not my job to be promoting a former CEO's latest venture(s) - I see the fan club is doing a good enough job. My initial post (when he was still a SYR consultant - actively involved in the BAM process) turned out to be correct. The 12 months consultancy came to an end earlier than expected, as SYR confirmed in a later ann. End of the TK discussion as far as I am concerned - unless of course he sells his SYR shares, or some other SYR related matter.
Besides moloch, this is the SYR thread, we can't discuss/promote other stocks.
