However, the system proved to be not robust enough and failed after a relatively short life. It has been replaced with a 1.6 MWh "advanced lead acid technology" battery.[6
This occurred because unrelaible software that controlled the pumps that circulated the electrolyte..done by Escom of SA. to get it back to normal this needs replacement. These problems are now overcome.. Info is from the guys who installed it.
