Adept Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADEP), the leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, announces that Integrated BioSciences, Inc., (IBS) an FDA registered, ISO 13485:2003 and ISO 9001:2000 certified medical device contract manufacturer, has selected Adept Technology as their exclusive robot supplier. IBS has purchased sixteen Adept Cobra™ i600 SCARA robots which will be used to build an automation line for high speed assembly of a class II medical device for a major international customer.

The Cobra i600 robot was selected for its flexibility, speed, precision, intelligence and cleanliness and provides IBS with a robotics platform capable of equipment recapitalization, higher throughput, tighter assembly tolerances and more complete product traceability than alternative robotic solutions. By integrating standard robotic automation cells and contract medical device production, IBS is able to offer a more seamless solution for medical device manufacturing, offering the lower costs of offshore production with the proximity, regulatory compliance and intellectual property protection of domestic manufacturing. This results in better on-time deliveries, and greater production efficiencies and higher profitability throughout the entire medical device product life cycle.
