I do the footpaths too, but the road guys that I ride with wouldn't think about it. I'm in Sydney and I was honked yesterday for just being on the road......frustration aplenty here.
Having said that about riding with mates, I'm just as happy going out by myself, then I can explore new trails, not be caught with times, and just roll how I like.
At 99 bikes they have the Assegai exo for $55, which I like........I'm going to buy a couple as I like that tread pattern. To my recollection, that is very like the tread pattern of the DHF which I have used before.
