The biggest issue with environment approval for a mining projcet is the tailings dam.
In the original planning, the first things you do is make sure the TSF is in a benign location.
Regis knew they had it above the springs that fed the river.
Instead of moving it then - they tried to get it through planning......
Blame Plibersek all you like......but I think it was hugely negligent what the company did and they should be held to account....
