Back in the day we used to call them "paper traders". I used to get my trainee/junior dealers to paper trade as a precursor to "actual" trading. They would run pretend trades on paper (i.e. not real market positions) for many months before I would let them loose on the real market. I remember one young lad bragging to me that his position was twice the size of the guy sitting next to him, despite the fact that both of them were paper traders, and then when he finally was let loose on the market (at the time, the SFE 90 day bank bill futures) he was as useful as a chocolate teapot. Did not last long in the real world.

That would explain why the Sentiment is always marked as "None" for some HC members. Interesting to see that the comparisons with A*R have stopped (!) as it has well and truly gone past the S-bend. Second flush required for that one.
