Furthermore, if you are going to perform cross stock comparisons, in an attempt to see which stock performs better, why not make it realistic and address the confounding factor of short term volatility due to catalysts? If you look at when you first said ASX:CHK could go nuclear (2021), and compare that stock to ASX:MAY, the long term trend for CHK is down, the long term trend since 2021 for ASX:MAY is up.

It is quite clear that ASX:MAY has retained some value from all the catalysts that have emerged thus far. ASX:CHK on the other hand keeps decreasing.
