exactly how i am looking at it. so called "analysts" are making a big deal about the company not fully knowing the capital gains tax affect of the sale.... what they are forgetting is that its a capital gain! this company has bought and taken 2 assests to a postion where its being able to sell it for a much higher price than it paid for it......so even if we pay like 30% tax on the capital gain.....we are still as shareholders banking 70% of the gain. ALso asset management companies are not the flavour of the month right now.....but when markets turn and the rates go down again......they will get a massive lift up.....and then get back into favour. its all cyclical.....
