    There seems to be an assumption the geothermal is not economic and doesn't work.....

    Coal / gas ...electric generation is exactly the same.....it would not get off the ground from the start....if it had the same initial start up costs....

    It's this first up cost to get the wells...the grid connections...the infrastructure...etc that kills the geothermal projects....

    The on going costs are very competatiive with oil/gas/coal....

    After all once every thing is in place the energy source is on going and relatively cheaper in the long term....no digging up coal...no transport cost...no finding more and more each year.....

    You generate steam from heating water...the steam pushes turbines in a generator....this produces Electricity....the electricity runs down wires to homes.....everyone happy...

    It's no more complicated than that......

    Yet Ptr and others can't focus enough to get the wells up and running to produce the steam...

    So silly and Sad...
