MSW (municipal sold waste) incinerators typically reduce the material by 95%, the 5% that’s left is divided between bottom ash and fly ash. The bottom ash is used to make building blocks, similar to cinder blocks, the fly ash is where any heavy metals are captured, that requires landfill as there is no treatment or reuse options. All the Perth waste plants operate under license from DWER, any ‘after dark’ operations risk massive fines, prosecution and loss of licenses. Sbang don’t have any of their incinerators here, if they did they would produce a similar output to the ones being commissioned because the waste streams are totally different to the ones they operate in Thailand. There they use a considerable amount of bio residue, basically agriculture waste to feed the incinerators. Gingin will fail because M8 couldn’t run a booze up in a brewery. Is that you Tom ?
