Not an issue at all if they find enough gas, it’s regarded as a globally short pipeline distance. Consider that the Bowen and Surat Basin’s CSG gas fields (former QGC territory) are about the same distance to the Gladstone LNG terminal, which then treats the gas and ships it half way across the world to China.



Plugging into the main West-East Gas Pipeline to China is probably more long term. More short term options are providing gas to MT Group (fuel for coal trucking fleet), Rio Tinto’s Oyu Tolgoi Gold and Copper mine (mandated to have a local Mongolian power source) and of course providing clean energy to power polluted Ulaanbaatar.
