I locked in 6% term interest rate for my SMSF a few years ago, being 70% cash and 30% equities, term ends next year. I'm happy to leave this mix for the moment as preservation of capital is my main concern as I convert to pension phase next year as well. I'm also slowly reducing my exposure to equities hoping for a pull back and new lower entry prices. I'm uneasy for the next 6 months about the markets. 6000 is a big call by end 2014 but interest rates aren't attractive enough for people to pull out of the market and whilst they are getting 7%-9% grossed up yields they are unlikely to move out of equities.
