Fully appreciate the anger and frustration experienced by all shareholders, the decision defies logic and sets an interesting precedent for protestors looking to shut down other UCG and CSG operations.

That said reality must be faced and a pragmatic approach taken to Cougar's future. As it stands we are a company with very little cash who has been denied operational rights on environmental grounds in Qld. However disappointing it is unlikely Cougar will be allowed to operate in Australia in the short to medium term, what state government would overlook the precedent in Qld and give the green light? It is simply not worth the risk to them if environmental damage did occur.

In respect to legal action I fully understand the overwhelming support, but unless there is a high likelihood of quick success it will only lead to more heartache and possibly forced liquidation. With only a couple of million in the bank and no hope of raising more money in Australia our only real option for cash is the China deal, and I'd confidently assume this would not be provided to fight court cases here. Definitely keen for management to assess the legal options in respect to appeal, but protracted law suits will in my opinion spell the end of the company.

To me China, India and Pakistan are the only saving grace, and we can only hope the Chinese deal previously announced will not be impacted by this decision. We can kick and scream as much as we like but it is not going to change the situation, my sizable investment will shrink but recognise I, like the company, need to move on.
