Hey DBK
what age did you move out of home?
17 for me...after Year 12...went to Uni and rented a flat with a good surfing mate.
was it worth it for you?
Best thing I ever did. The independace is great. And something you must do...so the sooner you stand on your own 2 feet the better.
is doing the washing / cooking / cleaning / ironing really that much of a hassle?
Yes it is....was for me, but you get on top of it. You have to...got no choice....so you learn to get through it and build it into your life style.
These things..you have to make an effort on them. If you dont cook right...learn...or you'll get sick and under nourished from not getting the right foods, or too fat from taek away all the time.
Also...cooking, keeping clean etc...and knowing these things shows others you have your act together if you want to meet people etc.
is it worth the freedom?
100% yes....its unreal...and very exciting to be doing it for the first time ever.
curious to hear the stories and experiences, good and bad.
are there any tips for me guys and gals?
Lots of good ones, indepnedance, party's, meeting new people, the experience that everything is new.
The bad...maybe the new side of having to do everything your self...takes a lot of extra time, if you go into a group house....well you'll find lots of funny things...house sharing can be good and bad....can meet some good people and a lot of losers too or people that take advantage of you.
Anyway....do it! You'll love it.
