I would say dont just move to the CBD move to another country. You will grow much more a person as there will be no mum and dad to fall back on at all.
I moved to London for 3 years when i was your age (i am 25 now) came back a total different person. I think i learnt a lot more living there than i would have if i had just moved out of home still in the same city as my parents.
The only thing i would do differently if i had my time again was go to a country that did not speak english so i would have been forced to learn a second language.
So my suggestion is stay at home save about 10grand get a visa to some far away place then just start making mistakes you will be surprised at how quickly you will find your feet.
