When I and most of my friends were kids there was often a granny or grandad as well as the parents living in the house. Quite of ten sharing a bedroom and helping around the house. Today I see them being shunted off to an aged community, or an aged care home to be looked after by carers. My son really enjoyed living with his grandparents when he was in high school and they enjoyed having him. He only moved out when he became a Uni student.
