well I have a problem with it. I watched the one with the milkshake. These are targeting teenage kids not primary school and won’t work for the latter either.
I’m clearly not the target age and it’s been a while so hard to be sure I can judge like them but it feels patronising in its tone, it is not much help with the subtle or less subtle grooming/ seduction and gaslighting which is more insidious and difficult to deal with. It is too long to get to the point. It doesn’t deal with the socialisation of people to “be nice”. It doesn’t deal with power imbalance. The moving the line metaphor is not adequately developed. It doesn’t deal with ambushing people in private. Overall I think it skirts around the real issue of consent.
i presume the beach version is a boy doing the pressure. It would be interesting to see that if anyone has a copy.
It is also interesting to hear that while the claim was made that Our Watch was consulted they say they were not. I am not sure what the other educational material is do we can’t see context of the video in the end I think the video needed to stand on its own. I applaud the attempt but think they might have been able to do better.
