Moving across the Harbour Bridge to Sydney’s upper north shore where the CEO of listed miner Aurelia Metals, Bryan Quinn, and his stylist wife Melissa have listed their seven-bedroom Spanish mission-style mansion.
Called La Encantada, the Wahroonga mansion was designed in 1937 by acclaimed architect Alan Edgecliff Stafford, boasting details such as seven-metre-high ceilings supported by oversized oak beams and hand-painted tiles.
The property sits on about an acre of manicured gardens by Peter Fudge, complete with a mosaic-tile heated pool, an outdoor entertaining courtyard and a self-contained guest house.
Stafford designed many of Sydney’s landmark Spanish mission-style mansions in the 1930s, including the pink eastern suburbs mansion Villa Biscaya in Rose Bay, recently sold by David Waterhouse of the horse racing dynasty for about $26 million.
