Well i just spent a week in Melbourne checking things out, employment and accomodation primarily.
I stayed in Reservoir in the Northern suburbs, and wasn't all that impressed by the place, or any area of the North for that matter. Rent was $210 for a 3 bdrm house (though probably 50 years old, rundown and cold).
The area i really liked was the SE, St Kilda was nice, but i gather those places are very expensive.
The city was great, night life terrific, and people very friendly.
Marketing jobs seem to out number Brissy jobs about 3 or 4 to 1. Though the population is much larger, and competition more fierce. Same red tape to get a job it seems.
So still undecided if i'll move down there from sunny Qld. It will definately be a career move it seems versus a lifestyle move. I'm just debating myself as to which one is more important. Still after contacts in the marketing field down there..................
