NewSat announces $3 million of new contract wins
Following up the 26 November 2010 announcement of the Jabiru-2 Satellite project, NewSat Limited (ASX:NWT) today announces a number of new significant contract wins signed during November.
The business contract wins are across several separate projects
    (1) Four contracts worth a total of $1.4 million to $2.4 million of revenue providing communication services to the US Military troops in southern Afghanistan
    (2) Multiple contracts worth over $600,000 of revenue providing communications for significant resource projects, such as Gorgon, in Australia and LNG in PNG.
All the contract wins are through existing NewSat partners with service delivery out of the NewSat Perth and Adelaide teleport facilities set to commence immediately.
During the current financial year the business has won over 100 new contracts totaling to over $5 million. This includes significant new contracts with Amstar Communications, the Australian Defence Force, Barrick Gold and Nixon Communications.
The operating business continues to track favourably against prior year results, internal sales forecasts and monthly recurring revenue growth targets.
The company also announced and displayed last Friday at the Annual General Meeting that NewSat has re-branded with a new logo (displaying the Jabiru stork), new updated corporate overview document and a new website. The strategic rebranding ushers in the start of a new era with the launching of the Jabiru Satellite Program. A number of further updates and developments on this groundbreaking project are expected over the next few months.
