Again, hate to be a party pooper but that could create problems for him. How would the ATO view him receiving gifts (presumably there's an expectation that he will report back to the group)? Would they say that 'gift' has been earned by providing a service? I don't want to complicate his life - albeit the intentions are good. If there is a tax law expert out there, help us out please?
