MP1 has had a tremendous amount of growth recently and I believe they are just starting to really ramp.

On the 21st of Aug they published a good graphic which showed in the number of ports and X connects:



The real first mover advantage of MP1 lies in the fact that they are building a great network of connections from Data Centres all over the place BUT this is in combination with Telecom service providers, there are so many intrinsic advantages with this model and finally, at the end of the day it results in less costs for the corporates along with elastic flexibility in terms of data and speed usage. A client of MP1's can easily dial up or down their usage as required and have some great redundancy built in without much effort over a number of cloud vendors. Its exactly what corporates want without tying up their own infrastructure and staff's time to set the same up.

After talking to our own infra guys in a large corporate environment, they said to me that this stuff aint hard to set up. BUT its that first mover advantage, the fact that Megaport already now have this in place and its growing, this really will now set up at least a time lag advantage for us. ie it will take competitors months and months to catch up and build what we have.

I think the future looks bright..at least for the next few years.
