Up until recently Console was considered MP1’s main competition (along with Packet Fabric).
With the split up of Console between tech platform and customer contracts and assets going between different acquirers, it leaves MP1 in a great position (with less competition) to achieve the crucial network effect that the SDN sector. It pretty much spells out that competitors were superior (I assume MP1) in the latter stages of this article.
PCCW may end up proving a competitor for MP1 by picking up Console’s IP. However, by not picking up the full business and Consoles legacy customers contracts...its giving MP1 a strong start.

The partnership announced with HKT demonstrates that MP1 is as attractive to telcos as an outsource model as it is to public and private cloud providers. Seems like a sizeable opportunity in Hong Kong as well. I’d imagine SLC’s infrastructure will be used where possible.
