#1 Good point. I believe the competition is a threat, however Megaport is clearly the market leader and is vendor neutral. Another thing to mention is that is cloud data centre traffic is growing by other 30% per year, and so is interconnection. So even there is plenty of room here for growth for all players.
Interconnection in nextDC data centres alone was up 75% from 2014
#2 Yes, it seems like the vibe I was getting with speaking with Morgans is that the instos were getting impatient and came to the realisation that the revenue for SLC and MP1 wouldn't be as high and as fast as expected. SLC was in a down trend, then Slattery back as CEO and they've announced they're ahead of schedule. Things over there seems to have stablised.
Does this mean Slattery is offloading shares in Megaport? Possibly (but no idea why) but we can only speculate until or if there is a change of substantial shareholder notice.
