Samples:
March 12, 2004: "My husband started a phase 1 trail of pi-88 April 2002. Still no growth in the tumors in his lung. He is stage 4, and given 2-6 months to live in Jan 2002.
I think they have a phase 2 trial for melanoma patients only that is now open. We saw Rene Gonzalez MD University of Colo Hospital 1-720-848-0590. This is in Aurora Colorado".
April 20: "My Dad is on PI-88. I replied to your last posting on April 14 with all details. Only side effect since then is that he's noticed his hair isn't growing - he thinks that's good and he'll save money on haircuts!"
June 7, 2.30: "From what we have been told, PI-88 is effective with lung tumours as there is a lot of blood here (this is an anti-angiogenic drug that restricts blood flow to the tumours) - this also explains why it is not so effective in the lymph system as there is less blood. But still in trials, so who knows".

Comment: No complaints about side effects although reference is made to "thinning of blood".
Patients inject themselves and go about their normal business.
