Banks are a different animal in that they hedge their interest rate exposure to a much greater extent than other companies. e.g. if they are earning a variable rate from a mortgage, they'll likely be funding it with variable rate debt. or fixed rate to match fixed rate. So its not rates moving up and down that is a direct driver of cashflows, more the general level of business activity in the market (which of course is indirectly related).
