Interesting that MQG is closing its debt capital markets business in the US to focus on private credit which is an area that MAF is involved in and just recently closed its private credit income trust with excess demand forcing MAF to increase the IPO size to $330m from $300m. I'm not sure about this move to private credit as my gut feeling is that MQG is a little late to this party (which is the opposite to what MQG does) and I have read about private credit potentially being the next big thing to blow up. Anyway, MQG must see a opportunity so I'll defer to their expertise.
