    With respect, what vote? Bit of a surprise if there was and the vote went the ay you say? The ALP when in power at the Fed level had a three mine policy that became transformed into the no new U mine policy of the National ALP when they lost power to Fraser. All ALP members and ALP State/Territories are beholden to this policy. Even SA.

    It is ALP policy that if an ALP Member of Parliament or the Senate breaches ALP policy, then they face expulsion from the party. (and become an independant)
    As far as I know, there have been no expulsions for breaches of th NNM policy nor any vote on uranium initiatives. (The recent "takeover" of uranium mining in the Territory was not voted on by the Senate as it was already enshrined in proclaimed legislation..ie, Self Government Act (NT).
