Remarkably, Melbourne is one of the only cities in the world which has managed to nearly bring the case number under control after a rampant infectious period measuring 500+ cases/day. Of course a disparity can be identified between NSW and Victoria (somewhat similar population numbers), though that is attributable to the largely unknown nature of a novel viral pathogen spreading amongst a population with unknown epidemiological characteristics.
