Cost of Labour, unions, IR laws, fuel costs, super costs, cost of materials, govt taxes, permitting delays, and council costs all contribute to bloated govts overhead. If you quote for a job, you can die very quickly or slowly as this stuff keeps rising. Higher interest rates driven by all these hidden costs eat away at the margins. The problem is that out-of-touch massive govts eat away at margins and make business near impossible. Australia is not a small to medium business country. The tax system is also one of the worst in the world. Canberra is the biggest problem we all face for those with half a brain willing to see it. They were lucky they didn't have to seek heritage approval. The Western world has the same cancer. All these new green taxes are another pile on to businesses and people.
