"The Grants iron ore deposit is interpreted to be the faulted end of a very extensive iron ore basin (the Grants Iron Ore Basin), the full iron ore potential of which remains to be tested"
HAV Management has previously told us that initial results from drilling, during calendar year 2012, of the Grants resource at the very western tip of the Grants Iron Ore Basin are considered to be promising for discovery of an extremely large resource, which conceivably could host areas of higher grade iron mineralisation where the sedimentary depositional conditions were particularly favourable.
I did a little digging over the weekend and located information on drillhole GTRC007, lying 2.2 km east of the presently defined Grants iron ore deposit.
GTRC007 intersected 69 metres @ 31.7% Fe from 15 to 84 metres depth (see reference on page 2 of the following 5 October 2012 ASX release by HAV):

That is 7.7% better than the Grants iron ore deposit JORC resource of 24% Fe.
Drillhole GTRC007 should be the yellow cross (representing a RC collar) within the fault outline of the Grants Iron Ore Basin, shown below:
SIMEC (Mr Gupta) has all the GTRC007 drillhole information, as part of its due diligence on Grants and Maldorky.
