That list goes on and on ...... I look at it this way , QF has got where it is today by using our own employees ( for the most part ) and its enviable safety record is what it hangs its hat on when being compared to other airlines , it is also why a large majority of QF customers choose to fly Qantas.
p.s. some of the "safety" related incidents that are reported and used in statistics are for things like ramp staff not wearing earmuffs correctly and other misdemeanor items .

Like it or not it’s happening, you’re obviously a current QF employee and understandably concerned regarding the whole outsourcing model and potentially how it may effect your job.
2 things

1 I’ve seen enough safety reports and attended more than enough safety committees in this industry to know where the real issues are, and they aren’t in hearing protection.

2 operational efficiencies = economic savings.

The simple fact of the matter is; if QF staff could do the job as well and as efficiently as the specialist companies we wouldn’t be having this discussion. But they can’t so a better option is being sought.

I repeat my earlier statement that the business will come out of this in a far better position with a more reliable and flexible workforce to rely on.
