Totally. I don't like Alan at all on a visceral level but as an ex-PR flak myself, his press releases in the early days of the Corona outbreak left me gasping in awe. I'm not being sarcastic. They were masterful publishings of evasion, half-truths, misdirection, bluff and exaggeration. Especially the one about share buybacks. Remember that one? Total lie. But it worked! The SP actually held up very well for a time.
He's been canny and proactive on all fronts including taking the time over the previous period to work up a close relationship with Morrison to ensure as much help as possible in times of trouble like these. He's been ruthless with the workers as far as he could go. Secured himself the best CEO salary in Australia. I wouldn't want to tangle with him. He's as sharp as Hannibal Lecter and twice as cold. Perfect CEO material.
I'm sure right now he's scheming something from behind the bars of this crisis.
