    The conservatives appear to regard being progressive as dirty words. They complain that Malcolm Turnbull is a progressive and somehow for that reason should not be leading the Liberal Party. They need to be reminded of the words of the founder of the Liberals Sir Robert Menzies “We took the name ‘Liberal’ because we were determined to be a progressive party,”

    IMO if conservatives cannot subscribe to the concept espoused by Sir Robert Menzies perhaps they may contemplate starting a Party that does not foster being progressive.
